Blue Red Trim

Difference between Samsung Series 850 and 860?
What is the difference between the Samsung Series 850 (52") and the Samsung Series 860 (also 52" I think)
The only difference I know of is the 860 has a blue trim and the 850 has a red trim.
They are functionally and feature wise the same except for the color of the frame. I have been told that they will also be coming out with a version that has a gun metal gray touch of color.

Suggestions on a color for a candle holder?
Hi all!
I have a cute little candle holder a friend let me have when we were cleaning out her mother's house, and while I have an idea of what to do with it, I'm just trying to figure out one thing. The main color.
Basically, I was originally going to paint it black, affix some fleur-di-lis wood pieces to the top 4 panels after painting them gold, then use part of a stencil on the top parts. I still plan on doing the fleurs and the stencil part, but I'm wondering if it's possible to stain the wood a lighter, warmer color. It's just a dark wood now, and it's kind of ugly. Is it possible to use stain to make the wood warmer, or am I SOL on staining?
Here's a pair o' pics for reference:

One with flash, one without, which is closer to the actual wood color.
Thank you for your input in advance!

To lighten the color you will have to remove any clear coat (varnish, poly, ect) then apply a wood bleach to lighten the color. The brightest color you can achieve will depend upon the type of wood.
You can then use a white wash or clear coat to keep it light. Sanding would be very hard and would remove some of the sharpness of the details in an item such as this. You can always paint the piece to get the same effect without chancing ruining the piece.

Underwear Travel

Is thermal underwear really necessary for the snow?
We are travelling to the snow soon for a holiday and I am considering buying a set of thermals. I'm just wondering if it really is necessary because some of the good ones are a little expensive- considering we probably wont go to the snow very often after this holiday. Thanks!
It isn't so much the snow as the cold that you need to think about.
Really, it depends on what you plan on doing and what else you maybe will have on. If you are just running around town and not going out for hours skiing or ice fishing or something like that, you really won't need longjohns (thermal underwear). If you are going skiing and you have some additional outerwear (ski suit) over your regular clothes (sweat pants or something) and it isn't too cold, you probably will survive without too much chill if you have no thermal underwear.
If you are going cross country skiing in antarctica, best invest in some though. If, on the other hand, you are doing some sort of "spring skiing", skiing where the temp might go near or above freezing, you will probably find thermal underwear too hot.
If you are going to be sitting around outside a lot where it is winter conditions (below freezing even in the sun), you'll probably wish you had some longjohns on.
The basic idea for cold is to dress in layers, and thermal underwear is one possible layer. I only wear mine when I go out cross country skiing for hours on end.
