How to figure out shipping on a wedding dress?

I want to sell a wedding dress on ebay, but it has a long train and is heavy. I can get a box to fit it in, but how would i figure out how much it would cost to ship it? I have a postal scale, but obviously i cant use that to figure it out. Do i just take the whole box with the dress in it to the post office? i would like to know how much postage would cost a buyer.

take it to your post office and just ask them for a estimate on how much it would cost to ship it.
